Winter Camping at County Parks

Campgrounds in Price County stay open throughout the winter, though guests should note that roads are not plowed and services like water or showers are seasonal:

Solberg Lake County Campground β€” Located on a 35-acre peninsula into Solberg Lake, this popular campground offers 60 sites (many with electrical hookups) and access to snowmobile, hiking, and nature trails nearby. The campground also connects to ATV/UTV trails and the Solberg Trail system.

Smith Lake County Campground β€” Southwest of Park Falls along the North Fork of the Flambeau River, this 30-site campground includes ATV and multi-use trail access to Tuscobia State Trail and other local routes, plus scenic hiking trails and river frontage.

Big Falls County Park & Campground β€” A more rustic stop along the Jump River near Kennan, this smaller campground offers about six first-come, first-served sites along with hiking trails that follow the river and scenic rapids.

All three campgrounds remain open year-round for winter camping β€” perfect for snowmobile riders, winter hikers, and anyone interested in a cold-weather getaway. Roads are unplowed in winter and campground water is seasonal, so visitors should arrive prepared with supplies and winter gear.
