Nothing can spoil a great day on the Price County trails, except not prepared for the unexpected. Here is a list of items that can be taken along in a reasonably sized backpack or dry bag to help keep the good times rolling.
Safety & Survival
- Basic first aid kit
- Fully charged cell phone or two-way radio (in a waterproof case)
- Portable phone charger or power bank (solar ones are not a bad idea)
- Map or GPS device (compass just to be safe)
- Multi-tool or small toolkit
- Portable radio (with weather band if possible)
- Flashlight or headlamp
- Whistle (for signaling if you get lost or injured)
- Emergency blanket or bivy sack
Vehicle Essentials
- Tire repair kit or plug kit
- Air pump or CO₂ inflator
- Tow strap or small length of rope
- Spare spark plug
- Zip ties and duct tape (quick-fix heroes!)
- Ratchet strap
Personal Essentials
- Water (hydration pack or bottles)
- Snacks or energy bars
- Sunscreen and lip balm
- Bug spray
- Extra layer of clothing (weather can change fast)
- Rain gear or poncho
- Trash bag (Leave No Trace!)
- Paper towels or wipes
- Rider ID/info card with emergency contacts and medical info
Optional (but helpful for certain trips)
- Small tarp (for shade, shelter, or repairs)
- Mess kit
- 100 feet of paracord
- Compact shovel
- Firestarter kit
Although your adventure may take you on a different path that you originally planned, it’s also a good idea to leave an itinerary with someone at home and check in with them when you have completed your riding for the day. Price County trails wind through over 400,000 acres of public lands which are beautiful, rugged and could be lonely if things don’t go as planned. Ride safely and we hope you Enjoy Price County!
