Price County, WI (February 16, 2026) – Snowmobilers can continue to enjoy riding throughout Price County as the countywide trail system remains open and generally holding together well despite recent temperature swings.
Trail crews report a groomed snow depth ranging from roughly two to four inches in most areas. Maintenance efforts are expected to continue as conditions permit in order to preserve ride quality for the remainder of the season.
Because the snow cover is relatively thin in places, riders are asked to slow down, particularly when approaching corners or areas that receive heavy traffic. Warmer weather and sunlight have created spots where dirt and debris may mix with the snow surface, especially in marshy terrain, open stretches, and hillsides exposed to the sun.
Snowmobilers should also be mindful of ongoing logging work in multiple locations around the county. Equipment and exposed ground may be present along several trail segments, including areas north of Highway 8, southbound routes, sections east of key trail intersections, and portions near Solberg Lake. Riders are urged to use caution and give logging crews plenty of space.
Price County’s snowmobile system features more than 500 miles of interconnected routes crossing private property as well as county, state, and federal lands. The network is known for its rolling terrain, forest scenery, and routes that pass lakes and wetlands throughout the Northwoods.
