Our latest local update submitted to the Travel Wisconsin Fall Color Report puts Price County at approximately 70% fall color, with yellows, oranges and reds spreading across the forests throughout the county.

That means now is the time to get outside.

Whether you want to hike beneath the changing leaves, look out over miles of colorful Northwoods from Wisconsin’s highest point, take a scenic drive, or spend the day exploring by ATV or UTV, there are plenty of ways to experience fall in Price County.

See Price County on Foot

You don’t need to travel far or move quickly to enjoy fall.

Sometimes the best way to experience the season is to slow down, get out of the vehicle and walk right through it.

Timm’s Hill County Park, Ogema

If you’re going to make one fall color trip in Price County, Timm’s Hill County Park deserves a spot on the list.

Timm’s Hill is home to the highest geographical point in Wisconsin at 1,951.5 feet above sea level. The park is heavily forested with northern hardwoods, making fall an especially beautiful time to visit.

Hike through the park and make your way to the observation tower for a completely different perspective on the season. From above the treetops, you’ll get a sweeping view of the surrounding forests, lakes and rolling landscape.

The park also includes hiking trails, the Timm’s Hill National Trail, Bass Lake and Timm’s Lake, so there’s plenty to explore before or after heading to the tower.

Solberg Lake County Park, Phillips

Another great place to experience fall is Solberg Lake County Park, just outside Phillips.

The combination of forest and water makes this an especially beautiful stop as the colors reflect across Solberg Lake. Take a walk, find a quiet spot along the shoreline, bring a camera or simply spend some time enjoying a fall afternoon by the water.

The Solberg Lake area is also a great jumping-off point for a longer drive or ATV/UTV adventure through the surrounding Northwoods.

Smith Lake County Park, Park Falls

Heading toward the northern end of Price County? Add Smith Lake County Park near Park Falls to your fall trip.

The wooded lakefront setting offers another opportunity to combine Northwoods water views with changing fall colors. It’s a great option for visitors who want to explore beyond the Phillips area and see how the colors are progressing in different parts of the county.

One of the best parts about chasing fall colors in Price County is that you don’t necessarily need a single destination. Pick a park, take the scenic way there and see what you discover along the way.

Fall is one of the best times to experience Price County from an ATV or UTV.

Instead of seeing one small section of the county, riders can travel through miles of Northwoods scenery, connecting trails and designated routes while watching the landscape change along the way.
