PHILLIPS, WI – Winter enthusiasts, families, and visitors from across Price County and beyond are invited to celebrate the season at Phillips WinterFest, taking place January 23 through January 25. The annual event brings together outdoor recreation, family activities, live entertainment, and community traditions throughout the city of Phillips.
Festivities kick off early with the Price County Tavern League Tour, running January 7 through January 25, and the Snow Sculpture Contest displayed throughout downtown Phillips. Shoppers can also participate in the WinterFest Shop Local Event from January 16 to January 25 by visiting participating businesses for a chance to enter a gift basket drawing.
Friday, January 23 begins the weekend with family-friendly activities, including the WinterFest Splash Bash at the Phillips Pool from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., followed by the popular Candle Light Walk at WI Concrete Park from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Evening festivities continue at Rock Garden Tavern from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Saturday features a full day of WinterFest highlights. The PACC Ice Fishing Tournament runs from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the Phillips Chain of Lakes, while the Phillips Flurry Snowshoe Race begins at 10:30 a.m. Families can enjoy Kids Story Time and Crafts at the Phillips Library from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by Moose Lodge Kids Bingo from noon to 1:30 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.
The evening lineup includes the Ice Fishing Awards Ceremony at Flyway Bar & Grill at 5:00 p.m., followed by a Snowmobile Parade leaving Flyway at 6:30 p.m. and traveling to Elk Lake Park. Once at the park, attendees can warm up at the bonfire, enjoy hot chocolate and music provided by the Phillips Girl Scouts, participate in the Ice Skating Party from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., and cap off the night with fireworks at 7:00 p.m. over Elk Lake.
WinterFest wraps up on Sunday, January 25 with the Chaparrals Snowmobile Club Breakfast from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Phillips Lanes, followed by the Price County Tavern League Tour Drawing at noon.
Phillips WinterFest is made possible through the support of local sponsors, volunteers, and snowmobile clubs, including the Elk River Pioneers and Lugerville Chasers, who contribute to the community fireworks display.
Organizers encourage residents and visitors to bundle up, explore Phillips, and take part in the many activities planned throughout the weekend.
