Looking for something to do this Labor Day weekend? Price County has a full weekend ahead with live music, a parade, big rigs, family activities, bingo, fall shopping and plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy one of the final weekends of summer.
From Prentice Progress Days to Autumn Splendor in Winter and Sunday night fun at Sailors II, here’s what’s happening around Price County.
Prentice Progress Days | September 4–7
Labor Day weekend means Prentice Progress Days, and this year’s celebration is packed with four days of activities throughout Prentice.

Friday, September 4
The weekend kicks off on Railroad Avenue with food trucks beginning at 5 PM and live music from Firsthand High from 5–9 PM.
Big rigs will also begin rolling into town for the Northwoods Truck Show, with registration from 6–8 PM, followed by the Semi Glow & Show from 8–10 PM at MBS.
Back on Railroad Avenue, the Jerry Schmitt Band takes the stage from 8 PM–midnight to close out Friday night.
Saturday, September 5
Saturday is one of the biggest days of Progress Days, beginning with a pancake breakfast from 7–9:30 AM at Lions Park.
Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy:
- 9 AM: Co-Ed Softball Tournament at Lions Park
- 9 AM–3 PM: Craft Vendors at the School East Gym
- 10:30 AM: Progress Days Parade along Railroad Avenue
- 11 AM: Free kids’ rides, face painting, Children’s Museum activities and more at Lions Park and the school
- Noon: DJ and karaoke with Oceans Freeze Entertainment at Lions Park
- Noon–4 PM: Historic Display at the School Library
- Noon–6 PM: Northwoods Truck Show at MBS
- 12:30–3:30 PM: Airplane rides at the Prentice Airport and old firetruck rides
- 2 PM: Miss Prentice Coronation at Lions Park
- 6–7:30 PM: Hailey James, full band, at the Prentice Fire Department
- 8 PM–Midnight: Pink Houses Party Band at the Prentice Fire Department
Food trucks will also be set up at the Prentice Fire Department from 5 PM–midnight, so come hungry and stick around for the music.
Sunday, September 6
The fun continues Sunday with another pancake breakfast from 9–11 AM at Lions Park, along with the Co-Ed Softball Tournament.
From noon–4 PM, check out the Auto Show along with DJ and karaoke entertainment from Oceans Freeze Entertainment at Lions Park.
Kids can head over to Buccaneer Pond for Kids Fishing Fun from 1–2:30 PM, with free bait, rods and reels provided. A Bean Bag Tournament begins at 1:30 PM at Lions Park.
Labor Day Monday, September 7
The celebration isn’t quite over! Progress Days continues into Labor Day with the Leo Heikkinen Memorial Golf Tournament at Prentice Pines Golf Course.
Registration opens at noon, followed by a 1 PM shotgun start for the three-person scramble. KJ’s Ice Cream will also be at the golf course from noon–6 PM.
Autumn Splendor at Winter Greenhouse
Fall is right around the corner, and Winter Greenhouse in Winter is celebrating with its annual Autumn Splendor on Saturday and Sunday, September 5–6, from 8:30 AM–5 PM.
The greenhouses are filled with fall-blooming perennials, ornamental grasses, hardy roses and mums just beginning to show their fall color. Visitors can stroll through the gardens, find inspiration for their own landscapes, check out fall planters and enter drawings for free mums on both days.

Moose Lodge Bingo in Phillips
Looking for something different Saturday evening? Phillips Moose Lodge Bingo runs from 6–8:30 PM at VFW Post 5778, 306 S. Lake Ave. in Phillips.
The evening features 15 regular games followed by progressive Jackpot Bingo. It’s a fun way to spend part of Saturday night and maybe even head home a winner!

Sunday Shipwreck Dance Party
Don’t let the weekend end too early! Head to Sailors II, 715 Railroad Ave. in Prentice, for the Sunday Shipwreck Dance Party from 8–11 PM on Sunday, September 6.
It’s one more chance to get out, hit the dance floor and celebrate Labor Day weekend in Price County before summer starts winding down.
